EXIM · Live Simulations · Career Mentoring

Teaching Export-Import the way trade actually happens.

I teach EXIM through live simulations rather than slides alone. In my classroom, students negotiate Letters of Credit, hedge currency risk, and file trade documents themselves — experiencing international business before they step into it. My pedagogy is simple: perceive the career first, then pursue it.

About Me

I believe Export-Import cannot be learned from a textbook alone — it has to be experienced. That conviction shapes everything I do in the classroom: role-plays where students become exporters and bankers, simulation exercises built around real trade documents, and case discussions drawn from the editorials I write for national dailies. My goal is to help students not just understand international business, but genuinely perceive a career in it.

Behind the classroom sits a research career spanning academia, policy, and industry. My doctoral work examined how demonetization and GST reshaped India's leather export sector. I have contributed to an RBI-funded study on unclaimed deposits at IIM Tiruchirappalli, an ICSSR project on millets and the SDGs, and I write regularly on trade and banking for The Hindu Business Line and The Economic Times. Earlier, I worked in banking operations at HDB Financial Services — industry experience I bring back into every lecture.
